The book describes the creation of Wychwood, the Lake Geneva, Wisconsin estate of Frances Hutchinson, and her husband Charles, long-time president of the Art Institute. The Hutchinsons were among the Glessners’ closest friends. Frances Hutchinson was a passionate and knowledgeable gardener, formally establishing Wychwood as “a sanctuary for the native plants and birds of Wisconsin.”
