Catherine “Kate” Greenaway (1846-1901) was an English artist and writer, known for her children’s book illustrations depicting children in 18th-century costumes in a Queen Anne style. The “Kate Greenaway style” was often imitated in England, Germany, and the United States. She exhibited works in the Palace of Fine Arts at the World’s Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893.
